What is Sedation Dentistry?

During nitrous oxide sedation, the patient inhales a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small mask placed over their nose. When the procedure is complete, the nitrous oxide is turned off and the patient begins to breathe normal air again. Within minutes, the effects of the nitrous oxide will wear off and the patient will be able to drive themselves home and return to their normal activities.
